This unit creates a flexible power sourcing solution with a scalable battery bank acting as a power source when no power is available from any of the power sources. It is available in 1kVA, 2kVA, 3kVA, 4kVA, 6kVA or 12kVA that can give instant power with a battery charging capability of up to 10 to 120Amp. 

Based on the state of our current power grid system, loadshedding has become a necessary evil as it reduces the risk of a national blackout that could take the country a week to recover from. But that doesn’t reduce the business impact or lessen the blow, therefore it is critical for business to make alternative power arrangements, one such alternative is the Netshield Inverter / Charger range.

Running a generator is still the costliest power source in the long run and putting all of your devices onto an alternative power system isn’t financially viable or practical. Instead, what businesses should be doing is deciding what their “core” energy requirements are and then building a solution to fit these requirements. If you need to power your computers, lights, boardroom, access control system, security system and possibly some additional plugs – the system you require is going to cost a lot less than one that needs to power your entire powered environment including air conditioners, kettles, geysers etc.

The units can source power from either:

Photo volyaic Solar Arrays

The load will be permanently run from the Inverter, which runs from the battery and renewable resource. In the event that the alternative resources and batteries can supply sufficient power the Inverter/Charger will automatically switch the load over to the grid and recharge the batteries to the pre-selected state of charge of the batteries. When this state of charge is reached the required load will be switched automatically and seamlessly back to the Inverter.

Back-up power utility feed

When there is an unstable grid connection or load shedding, the Inverter/Charger is used as a backup power source. While the grid is available, the Charger will keep the batteries fully charged and the load will run from the grid. When the grid power feed fails, the Inverter will automatically supply the load by switching into online mode within 12 milliseconds. The backup time is scaled depending on the sizing of the connected battery bank and the actual load requirements.

Back-up generator

Where there is no grid connection and the batteries are charged from Photo voltaic Solar Panels and/or wind generators, the unit will start the generator automatically and transfer the actual load to use the additional generator capacity to recharge the systems batteries. On reaching the pre-selected state of the battery load it will automatically switch back to the Inverter. The changeover is seamless while the generator is allowed to run for a pre-selected cool down cycle, with no load connected, before the shutdown commanded is signalled to the generator.

Generator Assisted Inverter Mode

 The Generator assisted mode is used when there is no grid connection, commonly known as an off grid solution, the batteries are charged from Photo voltaic Solar Panels and/or wind generators, the load requirements are permanently serviced from the Inverter.  In the event where the renewable resource power and/or the battery sourced power is insufficient to service the actual required load the addition of an appropriately sized back-up generator will be required to service this load. The unit will automatically start the generator and automatically transfer the actual load to the generator and use the additional generator capacity to recharge the systems batteries, on reaching the pre-selected State of charge of the batteries, the load will automatically switch back to the Inverter, this switching happens automatically and the changeover is seamless while the generator is allowed to run for a pre-selected cool down cycle, with no load connected, before the shutdown commanded is signalled to the generator.

In this mode the generator will only start when then the power reserve in the batteries have been depleted and when the generator runs it will run at optimal levels ensuring that the load is maintained and that the extra energy from the generator is used to recharge the batteries.

Grid Assisted Inverter Mode

 

 

The grid assisted inverter mode is used when there is a grid connection with the requirement to add additional renewable energy resources, like Photo Voltaic Solar Panels, you will run your load permanently from the Inverter, which runs from the battery and renewable resource.  In the event that the alternative resources and batteries can supply sufficient power the Inverter/Charger will automatically switch the load over to the grid and recharge the batteries to the pre-selected state of charge of the batteries. When this state of charge is reached, the required load will be switched automatically and seamlessly back to the Inverter.

High Power Deep Cycle Line interactive UPS mode.

 

 

 

 

The high power deep cycle Line interactive UPS mode is used when there is an unstable grid connection or where the utility power supplier implements load-shedding, the Inverter/Charger is used as a backup power source. While the grid is available, the Charger will keep the batteries (not included) fully charged and the load will run from the grid.  When the grid power feed fails, the Inverter will automatically supply the load by switching into online mode within 12 milliseconds.

The backup time is scaled depending on the sizing of the connected battery bank and the actual load requirements.
