Are you in IT support and tired of wasting time and money on support calls that waste your time because they are related to a simple power connection fault the customer can sort out themselves? Now you don’t have to worry with the new next generation Netshield Inline GSM Power Monitor.
This handy device is perfect for services businesses looking for a cost effective and easy to deploy means to remotely monitor for business disruptions. What type of disruptions does it monitor? With this new iteration of the device you can not only monitor power, but temperature, humidity, flooding and even door contacts on a client’s sites as well.
Making use of kettle type connectors (C13/C14), at both ends, the device through feeds power to critical devices and can be installed in hard to reach places. It also comes with a REST API, that can be leveraged to ensure integration with a host of third party event management applications.
If you have a support SLA in place with your customers you can use the GSM Power Monitor for business-critical environments where the delivery of services are dependent on third party facilities like utility power and building HVAC systems for cooling.
Once deployed inline, through feeding enables the power to be fed to critical networking devices such as remote equipment ATMs and cabinets. It will then dynamically alert administrators and deployed event management software, via the IoT protocol MQTP, when there is a power disruption, spike in temperature, flooding, changes in humidity or a door left open. This is particularly important for customers who need to react and respond to potential service disruptions by proactively informing your clients of support issues as they happen, without a client having to make the call to advise you of a problem.
Other features include: utility mains power detector (single phase and optional three phase), GSM unit with a Micro SIM socket, an internal GSM Antenna, an internal Lithium-ion polymer rechargeable backup battery, charger and sensor interfaces.
The device makes use of “phantom feeding” of power directly from the unit, enabling temperature, humidity, flooding and door contacts to be monitored and alerts sent when anomalous behaviour occurs. As an example, your administrators can set acceptable ranges for temperature and humidity, and when there is a deviation that is above or below this range the unit will send an alert. For environmental health checks, the unit can also be set up to send regular status updates such as single or repetitive time delayed event alerts , or provide you with a “once a day” heartbeat status of the environment if no alarms occurred during the day.
But the power of this device doesn’t stop there – it can be set up to send information into any teleport in the cloud or your private environment. With its integrated REST APIs, you can integrate it into event management systems, ticketing systems, call centres, ITSM or any requesting third party API environment with ease. That, or you can ask us to custom build a dashboard for you.
If you make changes to your environment, the unit will dynamically read any configuration changes when it performs a status report or sends an alert and the unit will automatically reconfigure before the next information/data transfer. With this next generation, Netshield has also retained the option for the device to generate an onward message via email from an event trigger in the database, directly to you.
There is also optional GPS/GNSS location built into the unit, allowing you to enter GPS co-ordinates into the database to clarify the location of each unit in an installation for maintenance purposes. With its onboard Lithium-ion polymer backup battery with up to two days battery life, means you can send alerts in the event that the power goes down…
Or you can simply look at its status indicators and front-mounted LED indicators to view first-hand, network and functional statuses.
